Not 100% definite but the Mercury guys reckon James Tucker has broken the course record too :-)

Great job guys and a good turn out, pretty sure it's a course record for the Stig.

I would just like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of both events, I've really enjoyed the added interest of the interclub challenge and riding a different course.

Also well done to all the riders, we showed real strength in depth despite the huge Mercury turn out last night.

Agreed, really enjoyed it and thanks to all involved. 52mph max speed.... :-)

Chris Bradley is a Zepnat rider, 2nd claim DM rather than one of ours.

52 mph! Scary stuff. What chainring did you have on those crazy retro 180 cranks?

04 August, 2010 10:18

54-11 top. Usually the 11 is there just to give better chainline on the 12 but it came in quite useful last night.

Those cranks weren't that flexy up the hill either, which was a surprise. Retro rules!

Thanks to all who turned out to ride at both events. I really enjoyed riding the Windly circuit for the first time (well the last 1/2 mile anyhow). The guys back at the Mercury clubroom confirmed that the Stigs time was a new course record.

Re the interclub competitioin Matlock scored best possible for our event and only lost out on the junior catagory for the Windly circuit.

Points were awarded 1 for to 6 for first three senior / vet riders from each club. 1 for first lady and junior, 2 for second lady and junior and 3 for a no show of lady or junior. lowest score wins.

Result : Matlock 17 points, Mercury 37 points.

Well done guys.

We will plan ahead next year and try to come up with a points system that rewards every ride not just the top ones and include a flat tt not just hillys.
