The Peak District National Park Authority are currently considering a planning application to construct a multiuser (cycles, padestrians, whelchairs etc) route from Bakewell to Rowsley through the Haddon Tunnel. Long term plan is for a bridge over the A6 at Rowsley to continue towards Matlock with this route.
If you have a view on this plan your comments can be registered on the peak park planning website (Full plan is viewable there). Everybody's views make a difference.
This will help the planning office to make an informed decision.
go to peak park planning website and search for aplication no NP/DDD/1111/1125

I've just received this e-mail from peakcyclelinks. Looks good so far, but if anyone else gets the urge to send a message, then please do.
Dear Supporter,
We're having a great response to the request for support for the planning application. We've had 142 supporters registering approval for the Bakewell to Rowsley plan and so far, there have only been 3 objectors writing in. However we must keep the pressure on and if you're intending to write in and haven't then please do so in the next few days. The consultation period has been extended but will end shortly.
Just click here to register support and it helps to give some reasons why you support it.
