Winter Bike

Does anyone have or know of someone who is selling an oldish bike, I'm looking for a winter hack! I don't really want to spend more than a super record 11 rear cassette (£350) on it...... mudguards not essential but shifters on the bars are!

I've just taken one apart so I could sell you most of the bits to build one:

Dawes Giro 400 alu frame (with headset, BB and Shimano Sora double chainset still fitted)
Ritchey bars and stem
Shimano Sora STI shifters c/w all cables
Alu seatpost and clamp (can't remember make etc)
Shimano Sora front mech
Shimano Tiagra brakes (virtually new)
Shimano Tiagra cassette (12-27 I think, virtually new)
Shimano wheels (RS10s I think, virtually new)
fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres that have done about 500 miles

I've also got a saddle (San Marco Ponza), mudguards (Crud Road Racers I think) and pedals (Shimano R540) if you needed them. All you'd need then is a chain and a rear mech and you'd have a complete bike.

If you were interested I could check frame size and clarify the bits I'm not sure about when I get home from work tonight.

Oh shifters and cassette are 8sp by the way.

Nice one Leon. I'm six one so would need a 57 or 58 I guess. How much were you thinking?

Unfortunately the frame will be too small as the top tube length is only 55cm (measured c-c). Since my last post I've also scrapped the chainset as, once cleaned up, I could see that both rings were worn and I also spotted a small fatigue crack in the crank spider.

If you're interested in the rest of the bits for building up a bike then you can have the lot for £165. Judging by what I've seen on eBay this past week that should leave you with enough to get a decent second hand frameset, crankset, and rear mech and a new chain without going over your £350 budget.

Just give me a bell/send me a text on 07740 359763 if you're interested and/or want to have a look at any of it.
