dave lloyd mega challenge
UP FOR GRABS.....is anybody interested in my place in this years 150 mile Dave Lloyd Mega Challenge. Its on 21st June in Ruthin Wales.First to get in touch can have it F.O.C. I did this ride last year and it was fantastic(harder than the marmotte/dolomite marratona..apparently) and it took a fat middle aged bloke like me 9hrs 40(gold standard).Cant make it this year due to severe apathy!! It would appear that nobody wants it..!! P'raps everyones too busy riding those time trial thingys...Whilst I'm on here has anybody rode the Stelvio Pass in Italy,I'm going soon....any advice?
Hi Darrren, I just got back on Sunday from a week in Bormio and double ended the stelvio. It's amazing, one of the most stunning rides I've done.
Advice- take some warm gear- no matter what the weather it's chilly at 2750metres. Also, although not that steep, it is looong. Expect over 2 hours of climbing from the North side and a bit less from Bormio. Also in the area is the motirolo, which is fabled for its steepness. I used 34x27 and got up it, could have made it probably with 34x25 with a great deal of pain. Enjoy.

Yep, Italian on the South side of the Stelvio, German at the top and on the North side. It was mildly confusing though speaking loud and slow seemed to work in Franglais.
