Colledge wins Club 10 Championship - 08.07.08
On Tuesday evening Matlock CC hosted their ’10’ mile time-trial which also doubled as the Club Championship with the winner receiving a trophy for their efforts. The favourites for the title were Richard Cordin, Peter Colledge and current holder Chris Green. Richard Cordin was the best placed rider for victory with Chris Green and Peter Colledge having completed the Marmotte Sportive in the French Alps over the weekend.
The windy conditions up the A6 corridor meant that the going was hard with no easy sections for the riders. Colledge however defied the odds to narrowly beat Cordin by just five seconds with both recording 22-26 and 22-31 respectively. Chris Green riding fixed was just 12 seconds off Cordin in third at 22-43. Fastest of the rest was Matt Ingram who finished 4th at 24-13 with Steve Strange 5th at just one second behind Matt.
