A wet evening, which got progressively wetter, attracted sixteen riders including cross rider Lee Shunburne who was riding his first long hilly in over ten years! Matt Ingram was also riding the longer course for the first time having previously only raced the shorter version.
In Chris Green’s absence Steve Heading upset the form book to upstage Peter Colledge and prevent Peter from making it a hat-trick of wins after victories in the Bank Holiday Monday 25 and the Club 10 on Tuesday.
Steve recorded 29-01 to beat Peter – riding his first long hilly of the season - by 17 seconds who finished in 29-18. In third place was cross rider Leigh Fearn who recorded 30-03 which was 32 seconds slower than last week.
Equal fourth place went to Lee Shunburne and Chris Sharp who both recorded 30-22. Only 24 seconds separated places 6th through to 8th with Steve Strange recording 30-25 with Karl Proctor and Matt Ingram only 11 and 24 seconds behind Steve. Karl recorded 30-36 and Matt 30-49. Plucky twelve year old Patrick Smart went over a minute quicker on his new bike to knock 1 minute 12 seconds off his previous weeks time to finish in 43-13.
