Thornbridge Cyclo-Cross Results
Round 11 of the Notts and Derby cyclocross league took place on the 2nd Jan at Thornbridge, the 32nd annual event the club has promoted.
Due to the extremely adverse conditions during the youth race, the commissaires decided that the race should be shortened and the riders actually lapped or about to be lapped were withdrawn and to be given their positions at that point.
This action led to confusion on the part of the judges who were not aware as to the difference between those who had been withdrawn and those that were lapped and the individual lap sheets now need workng through again to provide a full result and that should be available later tonight.
We apologise for the delay but this was the first time in the 32 years of promoting this event that such an action was necessary due to the weather.
In spite of the dreadful weather and blocked roads as a result of the heavy sonwfall, 87 Elite riders started, 30 Youth, 8 Under 12's and 24 Under 10 years started and the vast majority finished.
