Richard Cordin breaks Club 10 record
This season’s Tuesday evening time trials have been closely contested with just a few seconds separating the leading riders. Richard Cordin put in a blistering ride in this week’s Matlock CC time trial to not only win by over 40 seconds he also set a new course record. The old record of 22-05 held by Peter Colledge was shattered when Richard flashed past the finish in 21-43.Competition for the top five places is hotting up with Patrick Gould who has had an excellent season, recording a personal best of 23-13 for 6th, and Steve Strange, improving every week, clocking 23-38, for 7th.Phil Cushway riding his classic retro bike improved on last week’s time and Patrick Smart (13) knocked another 20 seconds of his personal best in a remarkable run of improvements.Tom Colton (13) was riding his first ever time trial and considering his only training for the event was to ride once from Matlock to Bakewell and back, set a creditable time of 34-16.
